Week 1 - Moonee Valley - Race 7 - Number 2 - Cilacap ($8.50)

For my first bet of this venture, I’m taking Cilacap at $8.50. After rewatching her last couple of races she was unlucky in her latest outing at Flemington in the Kewney, drew barrier 10 of 10, went straight to last, ran up the back of everything and never got going. Forget that!! The run before at Flemington was a good gritty win in a listed race over 1400m, again from the widest barrier.

With the above in mind, I think she is absolute value at $8.50. Moonee Valley is always tight, and doesnt always favour a horse that gets back, if she can be slightly more positive in the run from barrier 2 and some clear air I think she is in with a big chance on Saturday.
