Week 3 Bet

Week 3 - Randwick - Race 2 - Number 5 - You Wahng ($13.00)

For my week 3 bet, I’m taking You Wahng at $13.00.

A number of the runners in this race met 3 weeks ago in the Kembla Grange Classic over a mile. From that race I think the three best runs that feature here are Dominetta who stuck on bravely after leading the whole race and was beaten on the post (ran 4th), Inevitable Truth, who charged home late and missed narrowly, (ran 2nd) and You Wahng, who came from 2nd last at the turn, had to change direction twice down the straight ran on the inside and still only finished 1.5L behind the winner (finished 7th).

I think the big pluses here for You Wahng are that:

• She loses half a kilo, whereas the other two noted above gain 5!

• She has won on Heavy track before (track may be upgraded to a Soft though by Saturday);

• She drew a better barrier than both of the horses above; and

• Has secured Craig Williams to ride.

The big question of this race is which of the fillies can run out the 2000m on a wet track. I’m hoping it’ll be You Wahng!

I think the dangers are Inevitable Truth, Dominetta and Polymnia
